| The game takes place in the fictional world of Ivalice, where the empires of Archadia and Rozarria are waging an endless war. Dalmasca, a small kingdom, is caught between the warring nations. When Archadia invades and occupies Dalmasca, its princess, Ashe, creates a resistance movement. During the struggle, she meets Vaan, a young adventurer who dreams of commanding an airship. They are quickly joined by a band of allies; together, they rally against the tyranny of the Archadian Empire. Final Fantasy XII introduced several innovations to the series: battles occur without a transition to a separate screen; a "gambit" system automatically controls the actions of characters; and a "license" system determines which abilities and equipment are used by characters. Final Fantasy XII also includes elements from previous games in the series, such as summoned monsters, Chocobos, and airships. |

10:56 PM GMT Mobius Zero continue his hunt to for two more Clan Marks : Dreamhare and Atomos. Atomos was the first to be slain after I spent more than several minutes on chocobo trying to find him only to figure the chocobo was in the wrong place so I went up the pass and found him. I cast Bubble (This doubled my HP) on everyone and I noticed he moved fairly fast for a Slaven Type so I cast Haste (Speeds you up) on everyone. About Halfway through the fight, a random Garuda type was attacking me while I was beating the holy crap out of it. Then I decided to go for my Quickenings (Kinda like a desperate move but you can choose when to do it and chain them and do massive damage with ending spell at the end depending on how many you do) which the fight was practically over after a few more beatings with hard steel. Then I went and got my reward and went back to hunting the Dreamhare/Vorpal Bunnie, this took some time but then I realized it would most like be in the Southend of Golmore Jungle which leads to the Feyrwood AKA Very Bad F!cking Place. Naturally all the most powerful monsters live in the spot where the damn wabbit was. So beforehand cast Bubble and hope for the best, as I ran into Hellhound and Those really weird cat like things that are known for hitting you with spell with Petrify status and Blaster. As I was killing these damn things I found it but first I wanted to clean out the dungeon alittle bit so I can deal with just the wabbit. I found it and instantly began attacking it next to a Hellhound and wanted to get rid of it in one shot with the Quickenings routine, almost got it and had to chase it for alittle bit and finally kill it. (Sorry with the Looney Tunes jokes) I run back and I got the reward and headed back to Rabanestre to check out my new rank of Riskbreaker. I will have a new accessory when I have the money to get for the clan shop known as the Bubble Belt, this will save me on MPs and time. Then I saved right there at Rabanestre's South Gate. |

Final Fantasy XII 9:39 GMT Mobius decided to get back on the main quest as well do lots of stealing. Mostly for rare items and mostly for shear hell of it all and mostly, he needed the equipment and money which at this point was highly recommended. Mobius being the wise ass that he thinks he is sometimes after getting through the Salikawood, went through Phon Coast and noticed this Chocobo around and took it for a ride after seeing this area some hunter pointed out that chocobos can go through it. So Mobius goes through it only to run past many monsters on the way. He gets off the chocobo only to run into this guy who claims to have a son who is missing in the Sochen Cave Palace and so Mobius was figuring at this time "oh, crap, I was going the right way afterall... Dammit, dammit, dammit!". After fighting more than a fairshare of Malboro Overkings and Coeurls, Mobius finally finds the damn place in a cave (where else would be? Ask a dumb question, Mobius). After he uses the key that was given to him, Mobius fights a huge gang of various sorts of Mandragoras which he just uses his Quickenings on after realizing the threat itself could do more damage than he really want them to. Thankfully, they run around the damn area to give Mobius breathing room which gets them killed. Mobius then retreats and heads back the way he came, getting his reward from the guy who found his kid somehow. Mobius then proceeded to try to find a way out which he did when he found an Orange Save Crystal and teleported. First he teleported to Phon Coast, to sell stuff and get stuff. Mobius then went back to Rabanastre to get a Bubble Belt with little money he has left and saved. Ashe LV. 40 HP: 4988/2494 MP: 453/151 (three Quickenings) Weapon: Platinum Sword Offhand: Shell Shield Helm: Pirate Hat Armor: Viking Coat Accessory: Bubble Belt Vaan LV. 40 HP: 5238 / 2619 MP: 280 / 140 (Two Quickenings) Weapon: Icebrand / Francisca Axe Offhand: Diamond Shield Helm: Red Cap Armor: Demon Mail Accessory: Bubble Belt / Bangle Penelo LV. 40 HP: 5034/2517 MP: 471/157 (Three Quickenings) Weapon: Magoroku Helm: Burgonet Armor: Shielded Armor Accessory: Bubble Belt / Thief's Cuffs Clan Rank: Riskbreaker Points: 354024 Time: 53 Hours Gil: 1860 Now I am going to go watch Blood +, GN! |

2:50 PM GMT: After wandering abit, I decided to go to the Feywood mostly to see how I would hold up against the monsters there and narrowly survived after being attacked by four to five Deadly Nightshades, Golems, and Mu. Then I decided to get back to the main quest and go through the Sochen Cave Palace having very little difficulty up until I reach Ahriman. This battle began fairly easy after stealing from him to get some really awesome stuff. After doing some damage to him, the battle turned into a disaster from hell. He started multiplying like rabbits and I was against about 4 to 8 of them. "WTF?! HOLY SHIT!!!" (I figure I should overemphasize it) The situation degraded so badly that I had to change Gambits on more than a few tries and half of the time they would kill who ever is telling my party to kill since I set it up that way. I mean the Quickening didn't really help but it was enough to almost make it die. The reason I had to switch gambits around constantly was the really bad fucking status effects like Doom, Immobilize, and Poison and my party couldn't decide what the hell their priorities were so I had to switch many of their status healing abilities to items since spell take way too long. Somehow, I managed to come out of that battle alive. Then I was glad I healed before hand and ran into a trap, go figure, I am like "OMMFG! CHEAP! BS!" But thankfully my party was still alive and I have lots of Phoenix Downs. So I finally get to one of those Yellow Save Points and save there all healed. I finally went up the lift to Old Archadia and couldn't get to New until I had to give 1500 gil for a kid to cause a diversion (Sounds similar to FFVI), now I have try to goto the Yellow Save Point only to find out I have to do what now? I have to get these 'chops' in order to get on the lift and talk to various assorted rich bastards and solve their problems through Words of Encouragement of sorts. I decided to take a break and save at the Airship transportation place. EDIT: 10:21 GMT I made it to the Draklor Lab after doing that tedious side quest to get chops. My first impression was this "Okay, it is very quiet *Sees a bunch of scattered bodies of soldiers* Why do I hear "Those Chosen By The Planet" in my head? That can't be good..." So after walking around some bit and finding Cid's room. Deja Vu all over again, this place is just like the Leviathan, full of soldiers at every corner. After doing the Red Door / Blue Door routine and fighting squads at every turn. I finally got to where Cid was and ran into Reddas for the first time, and after picking up something headed straight after Cid. Cid was not exactly closed mouthed of his insanity, time to put this guy out of his misery. He had four of these Armaments or "bits" that protected him from everything except Quickenings. Did I mention he got hit with 15 Quickenings? Black Hole was awesome to watch... his health go down by half. Then I had to kill the bits one by one before I could actually hurt him. I used my Charge Technik and repeated beat the shit out of the bits and then him. Bubble Belts = FTW! Now I am at Balfonheim and now I have to go through the Feywood to get Giruvegan... Time to go back hunting Marks... again. |

I think this speaks for itself. The only marks that were fairly tricky were Trickster (A Giant chocobo from hell with Choco-Meteor and Palings and randomly runs all over the screen) and Antlion (He has several smaller version of himself you have to deal with but Balance makes this easier) so the rest are easily dealt with fairly good weapons and support spells. I have also taken out Adrammelech (Esper) and his near infinite Zombie Hoard. That's my current progress anyway. |

As I journeyed south and came across Rafflesia, a very annoying plant who had a penchant for an MP Sap Field. However before she fully absorbed the magic of all my characters, I cast Bravery, Haste, and Berserk on Vaan, which provided a means to a quick end for ugly plant. As I journeyed downward south, I had to to do an annoying puzzle which I solved without realizing it until I got to the gate at the Edge of Reason where I had to summon Belias to open the damn door. I had made it to Giruvegan and saved and proceeded to run into the headless Knight Daedalus, who went the same way as Rafflesia. Then I proceed to run back save and run along the maze picking up various loot from the beasts I had slaughtered. Soon I had found Tyrant and like before, went the same way as the other two. From there I had made it into the Great Crystal, which I was getting lost at until I just realized to use the lower way stones to finally get to the dungeon of Shemhazai. This boss battle went pretty similar to the last few except I stole a Sagittarius Gem from her before her imminent demise. Soon I had journeyed even more and met Occurians who I trust about as much as I trust my brother with a Masamune (just enough with good intentions but not enough to trust fully with such a weapon). They also gave me another storyline POS Weapon called the Treaty Blade. Then I had teleported back to Balfonheim and grabbed Reddas and my next destination is Pharos Cataract. After I finally sold tons of loot and took care of the "Belito" bounty. Now I am considering taking on Gilgamesh so I can get Genji gear and a Masamune and maybe some other bountys before then because the creatures in the Great Crystal packed a wallop and don't expect any less from the Pharos Cataract though the place is full of very awesome loot I hear. That is it for now. EDIT: MASSIVE UPDATE! Ashe LV. 54 HP: 7082 / 3788 (Blame the new armor) MP: 600 /200 (three Quickenings) Weapon: Rune Blade / Defender Offhand: Shell Shield / Genji Shield Helm: Genji Helm Armor: Genji Armor Accessory: Bubble Belt Vaan LV. 52 HP: 8538 / 4269 MP: 561 / 187 (Three Quickenings) Weapon: Ultima Blade Offhand: Helm: Gigas Hat Armor: Platinum Armor Accessory: Bubble Belt Penelo LV. 54 HP: 7698 / 3849 MP: 612 / 204 (Three Quickenings) Weapon: Masamune Helm: Officer's Hat Armor: Diamond Armor Accessory: Bubble Belt / Thief's Cuffs Clan Rank: High Guardian Points: 1247626 Time: Over 86 Hours Gil: 10971 Marks: 30 /32 to go to next level Okay, I went after both Deathgaze, Catoblepas, and Gilgamesh. Deathgaze took a fair amount of time but he ended up getting sent to hell with the same techniques I usually used and I torched him Firaga, but when he gets mad, finish him quick or otherwise he just try to spam spells left and right giving you a chance to hit so he can change spells (He will try to use Reverse, Scourge, you get the idea). Catoblebas generally hits for high and by high, I mean about 4,000 to 8,000 HP high. Thankfully, he has low HP and his defense equal bleh or he just crumbles that easy due to my buff strat.. Now Gilgamesh 1: This battle is fairly easy as I used my usual buff strat. and take out the mutt, Enkidu, and then he does a few cutscenes revealing what sword he will use next and at the 4th and 5th cutscene, steal from him using the the Thief Cuffs for better chances of getting Genji equipment. Gilgamesh 2 Make sure you have Nishijin Belt and Black Belt or Ribbon and Bubble Belt. Use Protectga and Shellga and Haste or Hastega (if you have it). If you have Reddas cast Bubble on him and Decoy. In Fact, have a Gambit Setup like this: Ally HP < 20% ^ X-Potion Ally Any ^ Phoenix Down Ally Any ^ Esunaga Ally Any ^ Remedy Ally Any ^ Arise Ally HP < 50% Curaja Foe Party Leader's Target ^ Attack As He will be constantly hitting you with LV.2 Sleep, LV. 3 Disable, LV. 4 Break and if you don't have enough Nishijin Belts or Black Belt for the Party have one, have it and equipped before the spell takes effect and cast Esunaga. Don't use Quickenings till he is at his last Phase and make sure to bring enough Hi. Ethers, Elixirs, and Megaelixirs so you can do as many as possible if you are under-leveled like me. Gil. will mostly focus on the leader of the party or the one doing healing and damage but before you concentrate on him, kill Enkidu, he is more dangerous than Gil because of constant buffing of himself with Shell, Protect, and Haste, Dispel immediately and focus on his since he has a few instant kill attacks mostly Crushing Fangs. Once you get rid of his dog, Gil is still tougher than shit but it is alot better than getting raped by the damn mutt while casting any buff or status eliminating item or ability and if you have low health yet your other team members have enough to spare, spam Balance or if you don't use Heal Spells very often, cast Reverse. Each phase he gets stronger and he does two different powerful attacks: Bitter End and Messiah Sword, he only use the second one at the very end. Limitless End takes awhile and I should warn you this battle will LAG especially whenever there is one of those two attacks or when Enkidu does an attack while you are doing an ability in general. Messiah Sword is very likely to at least kill a party member or all if all very weaken. Now when you get him down to his 4th cutscene, steal from him and equipped whatever you stole and go back to the Bubble Belt. Yes, lots of micromanaging on my part, remember to cast dispel on him as well and cast any spells that can reduce your pain. After you steal the Genji Armor in his 5th and Final Stage, hit him as many times as you can till you think you can still handle it. If not, go on a Quickening spree and hope you get as many combo with it and Concurrences as possible (The ultimate attack after a certain amount of quickening are done with different attacks and so on and non-elemental). If done right, he should be dead. Now before you take on this behemoth, make a separate save file as the area you have to go through has monsters at extreme levels and he will take alot out of him. Run back to the gate crystal (not like you have a choice, monsters here are three time stronger than anything you fought previously against) and teleport to Rabanastre to collect your reward of all the Genji Gear you have stolen, a Masamune (You now have the most powerful katana in the game), and 10,000 Gil. Congrats. to me, muhahahahahahaha! ![]() |

I decided to get ready and save beforehand and witness the end of the game with my own eyes. Note for ye: when you go through the Bahamut, just keep running, screw the enemies as they are a bigger problem as it is with attrition. I will not say any more but I don't know where to go from here but either keep playing or go straight to another game. This game left a mark so I will be putting in a Review of this edited in later. SO HERE IT IS!!! Review of Final Fantasy XII I remember how the the whole fan-base erupted in joy when the first screen of FFXII and seen it was going to have a whole new look. Then the demo of FFXII came out with Dragon Quest VIII and people screamed in controversial tones of fans screaming in anguish. Finally, it was released and now sit down and hear a few small words about this masterpiece Ivalice is a Small World After All. That comment is totally the opposite of this comment. The very minute I put in the disc and seen the Strahl fly by and seen the detail of every pixel being put to good use. Then you sit and see the beauty of Rabanastre in all of it glory. Then when you get to the actual gameplay and see it is not too far from the cutscenes. The graphics I admit are alittle bit weaker and uses various animations from the previous Final Fantasies on the PS2 but even then it is still a beautiful game none the less. The terrains are just about everyone imaginable and even a few more original ones such as Giruvegan and the Pharos. The battles are for better part of the word easily but on occasion the game will lag during more flashier battles but this is fairly understandable with this juggernaut of an RPG. You can adjust the speed of the game as well as the Active and Wait system from yesteryear Final Fantasies we enjoy so much that can be changed as easily as getting into a new pair of shoes. Best Example Here: Perfection is Easy to Overcome The controls are as expected of a Final Fantasy game, which is they are very easy to pick up and the action gets very intense as you will be hopping from menu to menu trying to change your strategies and getting an edge on your opponents. There is no wrong you can do with this setup. A Field Surprise The music relies on very simplistic melodies for the most part and don't be surprised to hear a melody except with a different jingle. The music is enjoyable and easily sucks you in and does a very good job at that. The music is on par with the other games however despite not being done by the legendary series composer Nobuo Uematsu. The voice acting in this game is equivalent to that of such of that Miyazaki or some very rare good anime. The characters are portrayed so well, I mean it makes Final Fantasy X, a joke by comparison. These character step beyond their boundaries by they don't do pony acting either (Over-Done Acting) and manage to portray every ounce of emotion, which is what more media such as games and movies should focus on doing. A Dimension on it's Own The game play is similar to that of Knight of the Old Republic as you get to wander throughout many lands and battle various beasts well enjoying the scenary. The combat system is a bit more automatic than KOTOR as it has what is called the Gambit system, where you buy certain actions (for cheap, mind you and expands throughout the game) as you automate certain things like healing and set your characters up on how to attack a certain thing like an Undead. The Equipment system is similar to most RPGs but you have to earn the right to use certain abilities and equipment such as Gil Toss or Steal. Due to this, this could make the game a mess to use for first timers as they will be fumbling through the options trying to get their gambits setup and can make you pull your hair out. Best is to experiment on a certain place and go from there. The game is enormous, not only in size but what to do, as there is so many sidequests such as the Mark Clan Hunts so if you find yourself stuck, go do some sidequests. This game has many ways of playing it which increase the difficulty and the fun to be had such as No Gambits or Solo. The story as well as every scene is worth watching and if you are speed running it, you have the option of skipping it (about time). There is almost no limit to how many times you can play the game and give you so many options of play and what to do, you will not be bored, trust me, PICK UP THIS GAME! Graphics/Overall Presentation: 5 Controls: 5 Music/Sound Design: 5 Game Play/Replay Value: 5 Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 Gut: The scenery is beautiful and top quality presentation. Controls can't be any better or easy to use. Voice Acting has no equal Choose your Own Battles. A very easy to control camera Active Dimension Battle System The Gambits System works without question... Lots of things to do. Bose: The size and repetitiveness of some of the scenery can confuse you, but, thankfully, there is a map. The earlier boss battles are a constant battle of attrition The License system is a pain sometimes The music could've use more different varieties to work off of. There you have it, now I'll go find something else to do. |

I'm just wondering what the differences is between all the weapons in the game. Say bows and guns, is there any different apart from attack power and which characters can equip which? Same question regarding swords, rods, maces, staves and so forth. |

Actually you can find this in the Clan Primer Travelers Tips in Arm Thyself: Standard Weapons Swords, 2H Swords, Spears, Crossbows, Rods Based on Target's defense. Out of the bunch, you will be using Swords of 1 hand and 2 hand as the Spears are pain to get and Crossbow I find are not worth it. Rods are similar to Staves but not generally as good. The strongest weapon in the game is a spear. Piercing Weapons: Guns/Measures Ignore Target's Defense. Guns don't get a high power rating unless you have INT version and are generally a pain to find and get different types of ammo. Measures, ha, they are meant for use on your party members. Fast Weapons: Daggers/Ninja Swords/Bows Fast Weapon Damage increase with your speed. Daggers are not that far swords so generally meant for fast characters but a tad weaker, Ninja Swords can be fairly powerful but like spears, are a pain in the ass to get and they are all Dark Elemental as well. Bows are meant for those Aerial Battles that you will see on occasion if you choose it, Bows can be used very effectively so they are recommended. Magick Weapons: Katanas/Staves/Maces Damage increases with Magick power Katanas are very similar to 2H Swords they tend to have more effects on them like the Yakei(poison) and Masamune (Combos the best in the game). Staves if used correctly, can be very good. Maces I have no experience with. Striking Weapons: Axes/Hammers/HandBombs These weapons are generally very powerful but they strike for little to high damage randomly. This generally says what I want to say. If you have one of these on one of your characters, he must be your berserker for whatever battle works so he can do damage consistently. Magick Resist Weapons: Poles The damage is based on MP Def of the Target. No experience with and are generally ignored. The best way of seeing how good these weapons are individually, check out this guy's channel: www.youtube.com/ashe10 as he has alot more to offer on the subject with his challenges like No Gambits Challenge, Solo, Streaker, No Levels, No Licenses, and Perfecter. |
