Chance's Guitar Hero III Game Diary

Today I spent money I really didn't have on a game I really didn't need. That said, I now own Guitar Hero III for the Xbox 360. You all know I'm a GH nut, and I have all 4 games. Anywho...about the experience thus far.

It's a lot more entertaining, to be sure. There are animations between sequences, which is new, and there are boss battles in place of encores at the ends of some song sets.

The goal in these battles, as I'm thus far able to discern, is to make them mess up before the battle ends by sending them difficulties such as lefty flip, whammy bar only (use whammy bar to strum - it's a complete beotch), string breaks (have to press blue button repeatedly to fix, and this deal which violently shakes your opponent's fret board. It's really something else, especially in a multiplayer match.

You have to earn the difficulties by strength of play.

They can then be activated simply by raising your guitar controller as you would if you were activating your star power during a song. Also, there is a consecutive note counter now, which is really cooler than you'd think. My best string so far is 200 notes without a mistakethus far.

I'm only about ten songs into the game, but I'm loving it more than the previous iterations thus far. I'll keep you all posted as I progress.

That's awesome, Chance,

I wish I could have any of the Guitar Hero games, but they expensive to me. Anyhow that sounds cool even though I can barely play Medium mode on any of the games except 1. I actually got to play Guitar Hero 3 on the 360 but the new visuals are not exactly my favorite cup of tea, but if I had the guitar and the game for a bit longer to try out all the new stuff, I would be more than willing to change my mind.

I say this is because they kinda hurt my eyes and their guitar was not very comfortable compare to the classic PS2 one. Anyhow, I would like to see how this diary turns out, I would love to hear a detail by detail of how you conquered "Through the Fire and Through the Flames" by Dragonforce:lol: . I'll keep an eye on this one, which somehow I could see commentary on youtube about the game as part of the diary entry:lol: .

I had my reservations about the new additions to Guitar Hero III, but it sounds like they might actually turn out okay.

I hope this diary ends up being more active than your other. *laughs*

Okay. Update time. I got to the song Knights of Cydonia. Ho. Lee. Crap.
That song is hard as a fothermucker. I tried for three days straight to beat
it. Finally, this morning, I made it my bitch. I then proceeded to play the
encore, Cult of Personality, and had no problem with it. That's peculiar,
as each song is supposed to be progressively harder.

Now, I'm on the final song set. Yeah. Knights of Cydonia has nothing on
Number of the Beast or One. I'm in for one hell of a fight to finish this game.
I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not even going to attempt to beat this game
on expert. No fecking way. I have beaten a few songs on expert, but there's no way I could keep up with the later tracks on that setting. If I can beat it on the hard setting, I'm dandy. That's fine by me. I'm so looking forward to the future downloadable stuff.

A side note - Why the hell doesn't the 360 version come with a different controller? I have massive gamer wood for the PS2 controller, but it has
no dlc, and that's a deal breaker for me.
