As you all know, I'm a big fan of podcasts, especially
those which cover the gaming industry. I heard on one
about how good the game "Godfather: Black Hand Edition" on
Wii (of all consoles!) was. Luckily enough for me, I found
a used copy of it at my local Blockbuster for five bucks.
I kid you not. Five dollars. For a quality Wii game.

Well, I took that puppy home, and immediately shelved it.
There was Halo 3 that needed playin', after all. After
I tired of H3 for the night, I decided to pop the game
in and fire up the Wii. If I had only known, I might
have skipped Halo for the night and just played the
Godfather. It is such a fun title.

The opening levels are, as expected, all about training
you in the use of the Wii controls. But, you get to
beat people up, so it's fun in the Wii boxing sort of
way. After that, you start on your missions.

The game plays a lot like the Grand Theft Auto series.
Normally, I would consider that a huge drawback, as I
hate the GTA games, but I'm also a HUUUUUGE fan of the
Godfather movies, and I suppose I felt like I'd be letting
old Vito Corleone down if I didn't give it my best shot.

Shaking down business owners, running from the police...
it's all too much fun. Oh, and the Wii controls lend
themselves very well to the driving aspect of the game.
It was very precise. I was surprised by that. I'll
keep you posted as I progress through this truly fun
title.
