NYKO PS3 Controller... who had this wonderful idea?

As many of us know, the PS3 is getting the "Rumble" treatment this year and who better to try and jump the gun than NYKO and their lust for third-party "improvements".
I'm not a "NYKO-hater" by any means, but when you create a controller made for a blu-tooth enabled system and then make it WIRELESS (2.4gz)-which by the way does NOTHING but take up another USB port for no reason. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF knock off battery life by adding an additional LED for every button... I mean, I like LEDs just as much as the next guy... but if I REALLY need to know where the X button is in the dark, I'm going to turn on the damn lamp.
The overall design of the pad makes it look like a Xbox 360 and a PS3 had a drunken 1 night stand. I don't know who the mother was... but I have a feeling she kept drinking during the pregnancy as the controller's shape has issues as well.

Jeez, it's really ugly! It looks like it would be extremely uncomfortable to hold, too. I don't think I'll be getting one! |

I think I may throw up.
They say they are going to alter what people think of 3RD party controllers and I agree, that ones even worse then usual. |

I do like the fact they changed it to removable batteries, but other than that it's rancid.... |

You mean, for the game that have rumble support? Which only exists because of the release of the Dual Shock?

That's what the LED's are for, Michael.
And in English, accelerometre isn't even a word.
It basically means it can do something the existing controller can (i.e. motion sensing) w000t for redundancy. |

I've got several of them for the PS2* I didn't pay MSRP for them, I waited for the price to drop to $15... They're very solid controllers; but they feel slightly awkward and the the button/stick layout makes the feel small. I wouldn't pay $65 for the PS3/360 units, but I'll be getting a few when the price drops.
*Why several? I have controller OCD. I can't control it, so I don't try... |
