New Game+

Beat the game and wait until it tells you to save after the credits.

New Game++

After beating the game with a new game+ file, save the game after the credits when prompted and you will start a new game++ data, with all of the items you had in the previous save.

Item Fusion Tome

To unlock the Item Fusion Tome, complete mission 8-2-1.

Phoenix Summon Materia

Without the Phoenix Summon Materia, you cannot get the Genji Armor.

At the beginning of Chapter 9, there is an optional sidequest called The Seven Wonders in which the Phoenix Summon materia can be obtained. Talk to a boy, the check the nearby water tower, to receive the materia.

Genji Armor

Acquiring the Genji Armor requires you to complete your DMW gallery and to achieve 100% for each piece of the gallery. Genji Armor allows your max HP to reach 99,999. It also adds permanent Endure and Regen to Zack for as long as the gear is equipped.

Genji Shield

The Genji Shield is an extremely powerful piece of gear located in Mission 7-6-6. You have to fight the Magic Pot using the following attacks in this order: Gil Toss, Costly Punch, 99,999 Damage and Octaslash. The Genji Shield, when equipped, gives you permanent Omni Status Guard, absorbs elemental damage and keeps permanently active Barrier and MBarrier.

Avoiding Battles

If at any point you want to avoid getting into battles battles, either during the story or in missions, simple hugs to walls while running through the area and you won't get into any fights. There's a small minority of locations where this won't work, but it'll help you avoid the majority of fights if you're in a rush to pass through a location.

Shinra Manor Safe Combination

At a certain point in the game, you will reach the Shinra Manor There are four rooms in the manor that you will find are locked as you explore, and if you look through the keyholes of the locked doors, you will see certain items that when counted will give you a combination to a safe which holds Vital Slash Materia.

The code is randomly generate for each game, so you have to figure it out manually yourself. Here’s how to find the digits:

First Digit - Knowledge Overflowing (In the room nearest Cloud, you will find a room full of bookshelves. Count the books on the shelves for this number.)

Second Digit - Unfamiliar Faces (In a room on the first floor you will find eerie apparitions floating in a room. Count them for this digit.)

Third Digit - Tasty Reminders From Home (The second locked room on the second floor will hold dumbapples and cans of juice. Count them.)

Fourth Digit - On All Four Legs (The other locked room on the first floor holds a bunch of chairs. Count them up for the final number.)

Good stuff <3

Also, one hint from me so far: get behind the enemy so that you've got both a shield AND hit critical hits more often. Also, practice both the block and avoid buttons so that you know which works before for what situation. If you absolutely cannot dodge, hitting block will minimize the damage, so it's worth figuring out which you should be doing and when.

One tip I have if your using a lot of magic then the command materia Osmose Blade is very useful. Like the spell it absorbs MP but it is used exactly like a normal attack so requires no casting time and you can combo it up like a normal attack so you can slip it into a series of attacks on your enemies.

Don't bother with power osmose it's slow and not worth the time it takes.
