Basically, you are disgusted by rampant fanboyism. Most of us here are as well. I have no clear cut favorite console, either. If you like the Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii, that's great. But, just because any one console is your particular favorite, it doesn't lessen the other consoles. I have all three of this generation of consoles, and no one in particular is my favorite (okay, I like the 360 and PS3 better than the Wii. I'll admit that.) They all have their strengths and weaknesses. But, because I like the Wii less doesn't make it any worse of a console. If it has games you enjoy, great. That's for you, then. Some people just need something to argue about, I suppose. |

Unfortunatly, there's going to be unreasonable people everywhere who wont give new things a chance even if they had one sour experience. It's pretty sad because each of the new systems have something that makes it unique in it's own right. | |||

XBOX4LIFELOL ... The fact is, fanboys don't stay fanboys for long. If you look at all of my relevant posts, a year ago I swore by PS2, and was holding out for a PS3. I wouldn't have been seen dead with a Xbox. But then, I played one. All it takes is a more balanced view, and it's not like a PS3 fanboy will have no contact to an Xbox ever, and vice-versa. Most of the time, it's probably just friendly ribbing. For example, me and a friend at college have this: "You know/Remember Admittedly, the 360 is my favourite console. But the PS3 will be, when the new FFVII comes out. Then the Wii will be, when they bring a lightsaber game out for it. And so forth. |

Haha... Thats what I think it SHOULD be! Its definately funny sometimes to kid with eachother... like in the days of Sega Genisis VS Super Nintendo.. the SAME games came out for those systems (Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, etc) and they were a great experience on both. Back then nobody flipped out because you had a SNES version of the game... they just wanted to play. I LOVE my 360 as it currently dominates my game fix. I sometimes wish it had a little more power because I dont want it to be buried by the PS3 in a few years when companies have (are rumored to) trouble fitting games on DVDs. I love the controllers and despite my issues with the hardware I'm glad that my latest RROD scored me a Falcon Model with HDMI output. I guess I'm covered if that does happen though... with the PS3.... but like you said, I'm waiting for some of the PS3 exclusives before I really start to play the S#!t out of that baby. In the meantime Warhawk is fun and its a great Blu-ray Player, and I get to play my old PS2 Games. I still have my modded Xbox too so I'm hoping to upgrade the Hard Drive on it for a media player!!!! (wow that was off topic just a bit) |

Oh god, not the one console future! ;P I think that deep bitterness towards some console comes mostly from what that console represents as a whole. In general, the Wii is associated with casual gaming and soccer moms, while the 360 is more associated with halo fiends who flame reviewers for not giving halo 10 out of 10. The PS3 is somewhat of the snoody system that on people like Gates and Kaz can afford. These stereotypes I think are what start peoples fires. They are most likely scared of that stereotype taking over. Sure I am kind of afraid of the Wii casual games thing taking over the industry. It's my own paranoia though. Same thing with others. People need to understand that there are good games everywhere and on every system. You just have to find them. Although the whole console war is a fun little fight to take part in. ^^ |

Fanboys are just something to ignore, because you know for a fact that they are merely ignoramuses who are hiding the truth from themselves. And what is the truth? That all consoles have pros and cons, but people have a tendency to focus on the cons whenever they compare console X to console Y. Thus they think of their own console as the best, and block out all other possibilities. I've lost count of how many times I've heard someone say "That console sucks, because this other console is so much better." I've just learned to ignore it and let them go about their business, mostly because I believe I know better than they do. |

I couldn't agree more, although I have been accused as being fanboyish recently as my games dev course is causing me to look at things critically and I see the wii as the biggest threat to where I hope the industry will be when I enter it <_< Basically, I like to bitch :P |
