A few days ago, Nintendo compiled a complete list of upcoming releases for the Nintendo DS and the Wii up to the end of Summer. Those hoping for the Wii to step away from it's casual gaming focus and embrace "traditional" gaming will be sadly disappointed though. It looks like casual gaming is here to stay.



Only a few days ago did we discover the existence of a DS bound Assassin's Creed, but it looks like Ubisoft and portable game specialist GameLoft have been hard at work on this title for longer than we might have thought, and it's already close to release.

Release pick up again now that the Halo 3 obsession has died down, with the eccentric Beautiful Katamari for the Xbox 360 and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground being the major highlights in the release line up this week.

The Sims creator has planned to take the game further than any in his current franchise, which basically assured Spore’s success for the 2007 holiday season. Sadly, assumptions that the game would be ready for this year are incorrect.

Christmas is fast approaching, and the weeks release line-up is, as always, filled with numerous movie tie-ins, cartoon tie-ins, and a few decent hopefuls. Highlights this week include MGS: Portable Ops, and Castlevania, Portrait of Ruin.
