If what I am about to tell you doesn't get every dork molecule in your body all in a tizzy, then I question your geekhood. The next instalment in the Mortal Kombat series has been confirmed, and it is - Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe.

That’s what is reported of the newest addition to the Mortal Kombat franchise. As said by Ed Boon, the Mortal Kombat creator, it is to be “grittier” and “dirtier” and “more serious”. How exactly these terms factor into the graphics and gameplay have not been determined as the game is not rumored to be released until late 2008.
