In the sequel to our previous story, Tales of Vesperia has sold quite valiantly in Japan, despite being exclusive to a format that is notoriously unpopular in the country.
The title sold over 108,000, a generous figure for any game. It should be interesting to see if the ...
Konami has just confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4 has sold more than 1 million copies in Europe in just one week on sale.
Now this is a strange week; the PSP is selling so well in Japan right now that it's practically outselling the rest of the competition combined.
The Wii is also doing admirable, but it seems like Japan has little love for next generation gaming right now, with portab...
$500 million dollars. That is how much money GTA IV has earned, according to the New York Times, in its first week. Take a moment to let that settle in.
Chart-Track figures have been released, and show that GTA IV has managed to sell more than 926,000 copies in its first five days on sale... in the UK alone.
Chart-Track has made available UK sales data for GTA IV's launch based upon actual EPoS data and retailer estimates.
According to Chart-Track estimates, GTA IV first day sales were 609,000 units - eclipsing the record of 501,000 units set by GTA: San Andreas in 2004....
Unique as Wii Fit may be, its certainly an oddity to see a video game focused on healthiness and fitness (not something many of us take pride in taking good care of) being such a hot product with consumers, but apparently that's the case.
In the wake of the recent Xbox 360 price cut, sales of the console have risen 35-40 Europe-wide price drop, Chart-Track director Dorian Bloch confirmed today.
Sales figures are in, and since the game's Jan 31 launch in Japan it has sold over 1 million copies. That, for those of you who haven't been paying attention, officially makes it the fastest selling Wii game in that console's history.
About a week ago, it came to our attention that the Devil May Cry 3 had a strong dominance on the PS3 in Japan, but figured the game would have a tougher time in the US and the UK.
It seems we were wrong.
Considering the PS3’s dominance over the Xbox 360 in Japan, this one is a bit of a no-brainer, but recent sales figure indicate the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4 has outsold the Xbox 360 version by almost 5-to-1 in Japan.
Rumors have been flying and sources have been talking. But now it seems a lot more official when it was revealed from an internal, Best Buy memo, that “The 80GB version of the PS3 is going closeout and won’t be replaced at this time. It will come off the planogram on Jan. 28. The 60GB version should already be gone from stores. Only the 40GB version of PS3 will be sold in Best Buy stores at this time.”
BioWare had big things planned for the Xbox 360; a promise they were able to keep with their newly released title Mass Effect. While other "big hit" games had too many problems holding them back, Mass Effects anticipation was well returned with good rankings and even earning it "RPG of the Year" on Spike TV's Video Game Award Show.

In the four weeks ending November 25, Sony sold 183,217 PS3s, while Nintendo's seemingly unstoppable Wii trailed at 159,193 sales, according to Japanese magazine publisher, Enterbrain's figures.
With Christmas looming ever closer, higher console sales shouldn't really come as any surprise. What may come as a surprise though, are the figures.

Any gamer worth their cents will admit that the last month has been an incredibly generous one for us. Quality titles have been appearing left right and centre, but it's Mario who has stolen the show this time, pushing sales of over 500,000 copies in its first week alone.
It seems that fortunes for Sony and the PS3 may be starting to look up a bit. The sometimes undeservedly troubled console has recently seen a peak in sales in Europe, that for the first time has seen it outsell it's closer competitor, the Xbox 360.
Nintendo claims its profit has doubled in the last six months due to the Wii's success. This will certainly help boost up the Japanese firms net profit of 132.4 billion yen ($1.16bn/£506m) from 54.4 billion yen the year before.
For the first time in a year, Microsoft's Xbox 360 console outsold all its competitors. Due to the phenomenal smash hit game Halo 3, Microsoft's problem ridden boxes moved 527,000 units in the month of September, making it the system's best month since launch.
In just the first seven days after its release, Halo 3 has hit the 300 million dollar mark due to game sales.
That's more than some Hollywood blockbusters make during their entire run. Perhaps critics who still consider video games to be a second class entertainment medium might now reconsider their stance.
Although it should come as no surprise that the recent slim-line redesign of Sony's handheld saw sales of the machine increase, the changes were cleared loved by gamers the world over, and it's the reason why that are worth looking at in more detail.
This will be quite possibly the shortest news story ever for VGC, but the tally is in, and Halo 3 is now proudly holds the record for highest first day gross of any entertainment release in history.
