The VGC community has clearly been impressed with the Mirror's Edge trailer that was released recently, building up some major excitement for the game amongst consumers and fans alike.



Mirror's Edge, which is being developed by DICE and published by EA, aims to take look at the first person games and rectify the often unnatural sense of disembodiment that we've taken for granted in the genre, and put movement and speed directly into the hands of the player.



Well, while we don't know if the third installment is going to make the jump to MMO, (please God, don't let this happen! I can't deal with Wookies of Warcraft!!) we do know, as of today, that the game is being developed by the original crew.



Recently, a piece aired on Fox News regarding sex in video games. The game in particular is Mass Effect. Fox News brought in a psychology expert and discussed how the game is geared towards adolescents and demeaning women. EA's have since sent out a response to this controversy.



If Electronic Arts recent statement about an open gaming platform in the future wasn't exciting enough, they've announced they will release a free online version of the popular Battlefield game to be supported by adverts and micro payments.



Gerhald Florin, a senior executive at Electronic arts, has said Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo should abandon the console war and help build a common gaming platform. Mr Florin believes that incompatible consoles makes life harder for developers and consumers alike.



Only a few hours ago, a news story that sent shockwaves through the North American game industry was revealed to the public gaming community. Industry giant Electronic Arts announced that it will soon acquire VG Holding Corp., owner of gaming developer BioWare/Pandemic.



Now, imagine if you will taking the feelings these games elicit to the next level by performing in front of thousands as the opening act for some famous band. Talk about pressure. Imagine no longer. MTV, who purchased GH series collaborator Harmonix, has plans in the works to do just that.
