It really isn't as ridiculous as it sounds.

[sum]David Hayter, who fans will already know lends his voice the iconic Solid Snake, has told fans on IMDB's message boards that if they really, really want him to write the script for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film, they should petition Sony Pictures to let him do so.

"As for me writing the MGS movie, tell everyone on-line to write to Matt Tolmach at Sony Pictures studios in Culver City. If enough people do this, we may be back on board," wrote Hayter, using his "uberdave" pseudonym .

And lo and behold, a petition has been made!

Of course, the fact that Hayter actually has an accomplished career as a screen-writer works in his favour a little more than the average internet petition...

Considering the fact that he has loads of experience with the Metal Gear Solid series, I'd say he's one of the best choices there is to write an MGS script.

Hideo Kojima should be the driving force... maybe with Hayter as a ***** to make the complicated plot more U.S. film-friendly... This could be ahard thing to do though... it is difficult to please hardcore MGS fans....

WHY IS THE WORD P-R-O-X-Y being censored!!!!????
