Infogrames, owner of the once industry juggernaut Atari, has named former Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide head honcho Phil Harrison as its Directeur Général Délégué, or president.
The company and Harrison aim to turn Atari from industry joke to "a leading online game company." That's a tall order for a company that's been on life support as of late, but given Harrison's success with the Playstation brand, it could happen.
It seemed as though under Harrison that Sony's online plan was, well, not very well planned. Inforgrames claims to have a strong financial base from which to work, but it'll take more than throwing money at Atari's woes to bring it back to relevance.
Personally, I'd like to see it happen.

Ah, Atari, a classic name. Also one that seems doomed, I'll be impressed if they can save it, but I seriously dout it... |
