EA Still Won't Take No For An Answer

EA's most recent extension of their offer to buy Take Two Interactive for $25.74 per share was to expire earlier this morning, only to have the mega-publisher extend their offer, yet again, to June 16.

Considering that stock of T2I is currently valued at $27.10 per share, it's unlikely that EA's unwavering, psychotic stalker behavior will result in acquisition of the house that GTA built.

Straus Zelnick, T2I's Board Chairman, was quoted as saying:

"This is the same highly conditional proposal that EA offered Take-Two stockholders on March 13, 2008, which our Board of Directors thoroughly reviewed and unanimously determined to be inadequate and contrary to the best interests of Take-Two's stockholders.

As such, the recommendation of our Board of Directors that stockholders not tender their shares to EA remains unchanged. The Board is committed to maximizing stockholder value and is exploring all strategic alternatives to do so.

We said we were willing to begin formal discussions with interested parties on April 30, following the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, and we have in fact begun that process.

We are confident in the significant growth potential of Take-Two and in the unique value of our business given our strong position in this growing and dynamic industry."

No word on the identity or of these what type of discussions have been underway with these "interested parties."

VGC will, as usual, keep you up to date on this seemingly endless saga as it develops.

I love how they respond "...we do not view it as in the best interests..." Man, just tell them to fuck off already. :P

Alright, so that's professionally unacceptable but hella funny. xD

Imagine the AWESOME outrage if they did that.
I would PAY to see the head of T2 shout that to the head of EA

It must be sorta like when some douche is hitting on a girl in a bar and he's just not getting the hints that she's totally not interested.
