The Tokyo Game Show has always been a popular mainstay of the Japanese gaming calendar, but many were disappointed by the lack of playable PS3 games at last year's show. This year promises to be nowhere near as disappointing though, with 27 games for the machine playable at the event.

The Tokyo Game Show will open its doors to the general public between September 22nd and 24th run.

Below is a preliminary list of titles to be shown at TGS 2006. It's by no means a complete list though, as some titles are being kept under wraps until the day of the show itself. What they could possibly be is anyone's guess.

PlayStation 3 playable titles:

Armored Core 4 (From Software)
Blade Storm Hyakunen Sensou (Koei)
Coded Arms Assault (Konami)
Devil May Cry 4 (Capcom)
The Eye of Judgment (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Fatal Inertia (Koei)
Formula One World Championship (working title) (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Genji (working title) (Sony Computer Entertainment)
"Gran Turismo" Series (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Heavenly Sword (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Lair (working title) (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Mahjong Taikai IV (Koei)
Minna no Golf 5 (working title) (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight (Namco Bandai Games)
MotorStorm (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Railfan (Ongakukan)
Resistance: Fall of Man (Sony Computer Entertainment)
Ridge Racer 7 (Namco Bandai Games)
Warhawk (Sony Computer Entertainment)

In the words of Ratty from X-Play "Daaaaammmmmnnnn!"

Maybe Sony is actually going to have some games that might make us think about getting a PS3, about time they started to show a line-up that might make us shell out 500 to 600 dead presidents.

I'm mostly interested in seeing DMC4. TGS is going to rock.

Not a bad prelimineary list...not bad.

Only question is, how many of those will be "launch"-window titles? ;)

I'm looking forward to DMC4 and Gran Turismo, but I really hope they have a Metal Gear playable demo there aswell. They should do though, if they expect the release date to be spring 2007
