Yves Guillemot: Beyond Good & Evil 2 will be "more casual"

I'm not sure what to make of this myself.
Speaking to Ubidays Next-Gen yesterday, Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot informed the eager swarm of rabid Beyond Good & Evil fans (all 10 of them) that Beyond Good & Evil 2 will be "a more casual game" than the original, on of the must highly loved by abysmally selling games in the history of man.
"We saw with Beyond Good & Evil that so many customers were extremely happy with the game," he said. "We had a different audience at that time. We had more core gamers than casual gamers than we have today."
"We think the game was probably a little too difficult for the general gamers at that time. We’re going to make it more accessible and make sure that it's really done for the new generation that's come into videogames."
As long as this doesn't mean that Jade turns into a expletive flinging nu-metal reject with an attitude problem in the vein the tragic misdirection that was Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, I think I can accept this news.
Please Ancel, don't screw this up. We beg you.

Too difficult? What the hell?! Is he serious? The game was perfectly balanced. It was challenging as all hell, but by no means impossible. This has me worried now. Please do not dumb down this game. Please!!!! |
