Many gamers have been lamenting the depressingly sparse release calendar for Nintendo's Wii console, and a dry spell for the DS (unless you like movie tie), so Nintendo's recent release schedule for the third quarter may finally give cause for celebration amongst the European Nintendo loyal...
In what turned out to be a surprisingly meaty release schedule (for Nintendo finally confirmed the release dates for some of its biggest titles in Europe.
On the Wii front,
Super Paper Mario is finally hitting UK and Irish shores, with a release date penned for September 24th - you can be assured this reporter has that date already marked down on his calendar!
Trauma Center: Second Opinion is due for an August 10th.
Resident Evil: Wii Edition (as mentioned in Monday's
release date roundup) will also be released on June 24th.
On the DS front meanwhile, the... ever lovable (?!) Tingle, of Zelda "fame" (if you don't know, better you don't ask) will be flying his way onto the handheld on September 14th, whilst
Sonid Rush Adventure is due out on September 28th. Earlier in the year will be
Elite Beat Agents on July 13th, and
Pokémon Diamond/Pearl on July 27th.
Below is a complete list of all the games planned for release on both of Nintendo's current video game formats, the Wii and DS. Remember, these are European release dates only, but the American release calendar should be considerably close to this.

Yeah. So, I sent and received my first message via Wiimail yesterday. It got
all blue and pretty. Still, that, coupled with this list, does not justify owning one. I need Metroid Prime 3, and I need it to have online multiplayer. (which I normally couldn't give less than a mouse fart about, but for some odd reason it's
important to me as it applies to this game. Maybe it's just that having the
potential to play others online with my Wii is the justification I need for having
the system.) |

Lots of non-gaming franchises with a sporatic hopeful-classic from Nintendo here and there?
Totally agreed! |

Yes, there are some games on the list that are worth playing, but there are alot of, well, crap.
Such a list did not help the Gamecube.
I still havent forgiven the president of Nintendo when he stated that gamers don't want online gaming. [I still cry at night]
When the Wii was being released, I had hopes that this system would revive Nintendo. Shortly after the consoles release, I glanced at the then release dates for its games. I then predicted a Gamecube fate for the new Nintendo system. |
