Nintendo is so running out of ideas...

I'd beg to differ on this one. It's the rebirth of the classic Wario Land gameplay (which hasn't been around for a few years now), and the "shake" aspect seems to be a nice twist on the old formula, much like the gravity physics in Super Mario Galaxy, which found a way to use the Wiimote in a non-"lol, moving the wiimote" way (compared to Super Mario Sunshine, which was Super Mario 64 w/ a water pack attached to Mario). Wario's roots are in this kind of gameplay, which is why Nintendo is going back to it after the list of WarioWare games. If I may ask, did you play the original GameBoy Wario Land game? Maybe it's just me, but are you against using with a proven forumla, but tweaking it with a new control style/etc. (think the DS Castlevanias here)? I personally don't see an issue with that, as long as it doesn't rehash it every year (like some sports, or racing games). |

I've never understood why they suddenly decided to give Wario the Wario Ware games. Wario only has one thing on his mind: money. And this game is true to that aspect of his personality. This will be like the Paper Mario series, a new imagining of an old formula.

That's what my problem with this is. That's all it seems to be. Shaking the WiiMote to do some novel things within the game.
Yes I did. I'm well aware of his roots. Maybe it's just me, but are you against using with a proven forumla, but tweaking it with a new control style/etc. (think the DS Castlevanias here)?[/QUOTE] No, I'm not against it. The game itself looks decent. What I am against it such inane "tweaks" that scream of novelty factor. This game could have work just as well, if not better, on the Nintendo DS. |
