For a long time, many an Australian gamer could tell you how long it would take to get many games on the store shelves and at times how impossible it was to find something aside from Final Fantasy.
Now that may change as Ubisoft, the creators behind the Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell series have entered a deal with Square Enix to help with the distributions for both Australia and New Zealand.
Currently the deal has been mainly set up for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals: The Ring of Fates and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, both for the DS and both will be released early 2008 in the Outback.
Hopefully if this distribution deal goes well, Australia and New Zealand, both usually the last to get any new games will finally catch up with American and European markets which release only a few months after Japan.

Huzzah! Now perhaps we wont miss out on releases of games like FFVI and Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Bushido Blade 2 etc etc anymore:-p
Ubisoft should get a tidy profit from distributing the games over here as well. Everyone wins! |

It's good to hear that they are finally getting their games at a reasonable time. The unfortunate reality of living in somewhere that's not in a mainstream market is having to wait a bit (sometimes more than a bit) longer than other countries--however, it's nice that this time is an exception. |

If they're doing that for Aus, surely they should do the same for the UK, so that generally, UK gamers dont buy from AUS as soon as they hear about a new game coming out. |
