Hope for StarCraft II's release this year was always a hopeful but unlikely one for the fans, but as with Blizzard's stance on all of its' games, they'll be ready when they're ready.
Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce has refused to commit StarCraft II to a 2008 release, simply stating that the company still has "too much work to do" for it to be possible.
"This year? Like, 2008? Too much work to do," Pearce told the press. "We don't have a specific release date in mind yet. We still have too much work to do."
So it looks like gamers will have to wait until 2008 to get their hands on the hugely anticipated sequel, or... lord forbit... 2010.

2010? THATS A TRAVESTY.
I can forgive them though, they're making Diablo 3. |

That's one of the coolest things about Blizzard I think. That they take all the time they need to tweak and pick at their game to get it perfect. It really pays off in the end though with their games being some of the best in their respective genres.
Anyway, I in no way expected them to release SCII or WotLK this year. While I am really anxious for SCII I know that waiting will produce an high quality and polished experience. I believe it was the last Blizzcast that the director of SCII mentioned that they have only one race kind of set on what they want, and the other two are still kind of rough. |
