Sitting down with; Conflict: Denied Ops demo

So a few nights ago, while the wife monopolized the HD set in the living room... I decided I needed my weekly demo fix.

Due to my lack of 1080p access (and my complete unwillingness to use the SD set upstairs) I switched on the ol' PSP for some plan B action. I was browsing the PS3's online store via remote play and I stumbled across Conflict: Denied Ops.

At first I hesitated in downloading it as I knew how skeptical everyone was towards this game. I also am getting sick of the "War zone FPS" genre that has monopolized console gaming for so long... but what the hell... I was going to need something to do as soon as One Tree Hill was over.. and by the way thats what my WIFE was watching.

*On a side note I am convinced that Chad Michael Murray is Satan in sheep's clothing*

So after Peyton denied Lucas'proposal, (I swear its just my wife that watches) I swapped inputs on the set and started playing the new demo! I must say... I'm IMPRESSED!

First off the graphics were done well, not that they matter all that much, but nice graphics can be the icing on the cake that is nice gameplay. I also enjoyed the slight wabble when you run that really gave that sort of "Saving Private Ryan" first-person feel. The ability to swap characters is cool and it makes the replay value of the game pretty high.

So after ALL that the BEST part is that the DEMO is Multiplayer CO-OP both online and on your machine. This feature is quick and easy, and really makes you appriciate the game!

I never downloaded the XBOX 360 version.. but if you have and have something to say I'd love to know how you feel.

GREAT game 8.75/10

I've noticed a lot of demos recently are a lot more expansive and actually go out of their way to let the consumer know what the game is like.

Multiplayer is just one example. The Burnout Paradise demo, for instance, allowed you to play through the demo's city area online without restriction, which would have been unheard of a long time ago.

It's like free console beta-testing. *laughs*

It reminds me a lot of the Shareware days too, when demos were legitimately important.

I hope it becomes a trend. These kind of demos are the way forward.

Can't say I'm a fan of Conflict, but good reviews.
