Electronic Arts confirmed a set release date for Rock Band today... at least for the Xbox 360 anyway; the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band in Europe on 23rd May. It will be a "timed exclusive" for Microsoft; the PS3, PS2 and Wii versions will not appear until to appear on European store shelves until "later this summer".

Euro Rock Band will feature a number of exclusive songs relevant to European pop culture. These include tracks from such obvious bands Oasis and Blur, plus adopted German favourite Die Toten Hosen.

Thankfully, the game looks like its going to be a lot cheaper here than many of us originally feared; the instruments will sell for a very reasonable GBP 129.99 / EUR 169.99, with the game sold separately.

The full list of Euro-exclusive songs can be found below.

English

* "Beetlebum" by Blur
* "Rock 'n' Roll Star" by Oasis
* "Monsoon" by Tokio Hotel
* "Hysteria" by Muse

German

* "Hier Kommt Alex" by Die Toten Hosen
* "Perfekte Welle" by Juli
* "Countdown to Insanity" by H-Block X

French

* "Manu Chao" by Les Wampas
* "New Wave" by Playmo

...Songs suck.
Pretty epically actually.

Never mind eh though, Im still probably going to get it, and rock out with the rest of the geeks.

Bleccch. I can't beleive that they sold the instruments separately, and at about a £40 markup from the US price. I guess they're waiting to sort out the instruments before they sell it proper like.

I may have to wait until they make it a bundle.

Not that I can afford it anyway <_<
