According to a recent report by the developer, Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi has confirmed that additional "Gears-like" gameplay mechanics, in the form of a cover system, are being added to Resident Evil 5.
The new system will be shown off at the Tokyo Game Show next month, which takes place between October 9th - 12th.
This new addition to Resident Evil's 5 gameplay comes in the wake of vocal criticism levelled at the title after this year's E3, where it was criticised for being too similar to Resident Evil 4 in terms of control.
Whether this ends up being a good thing or not is something we're going to have to wait to find out.

Yet so many people praise RE4 for having superior controls compared to past games. So I am confused, they don't like RE 1-3 controls, love RE4 controls, but want RE5 to be completely different. WHAT?
Much less, I don't like Gears cover system to much. Maybe it was the way it was used, but it felt so clunky. Hopefully RE5 uses it better since its coming. |
