It's funny how the industry works sometimes. Valve's Half Life series was birthed on PCs nearly a decade ago takes to the power of the (then revolutionary) Quake Engine. Now, nine years on, the newest Quake title, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, will be seeing itself join the ever growing cast of title's on Half Life creators Valve's download service, Steam.
Beginning October 9th, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be available to download in the US on Valve's popular gaming download service Steam, and a few days earlier in other gaming regions on October 5th. Set as a prequel to Quake 2, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is being developed by general newcomers Splash Damage, but retains many familiar elements to the series.
Whether it can repeat the industry shaking success of Quake 3 through, which revolutonised multiplayer online game long before it was a popular concept, is another question entirely, but it will only set you back $49.99 to find out.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars joins a host of other id Software titles to go up on Steam recently when the company decided to release their entire back catalogue on the service.
