Spore has been one of those games that players have been waiting for for what has seemed like an age but at the same time, most details about it have been rather elusive and infrequent.
Now to celebrate Spore being released in September, Maxis decided to give players a taste of the game by releasing two versions of the game's creature creator. One as a free demo with a quarter of the content and a full creator for around $25. Players who pick up the full packaged generator will be able to import their creations into the spore game when it ships out in September.
The creature creator is the first part of the games multiple creators, others include creating buildings and starships but before players can travel to distant worlds with their species, they first have to make their creatures, thus the creature creator.
Players create creatures in a very basic but at the same time complex way. The process itself is like shaping a mold of clay along with adding features such as legs, hands, eyes, a mouth, etc. The amount of variety put into the creature creator makes it so that it would be a challenge for different players to come up with identical creations and the creatures can be shaped from funny mock earth like animals to things that only the player could imagine.
Spore itself will be released in September and will be available on the PC, XBox360 the PS3 the Wii and the creature creator will be built into the game itself but until then, the creature creator will give players time to hone in their creature making skills.

So basically they want us to pay for a part of the game that will be in the final product anyway?
Fuck off, E.A.
Anyone who even considers the idea of buying this is an idiot. |

Correct me if I'm wrong. I heard that that Maxis is going to try to put out Spore for the consoles. Is it being launched on Xbox and PS3 as well or will that happen later if even. |

September, hey? Sounds like the perfect opportunity to test the rig I'm building in the summer...

Awesome! That makes me really happy. My PC could never handle it, I'm sure. I need a new one for Conan too. |

This is a rather long time to wait for a game. I had almost forgotten this game existed considering how long its been. And while the demo is a good idea to spark interest (mine was suffering) making anyone pay even for a premium demo is really, really silly. |
