While many gamers and industry enthusiasts are looking out for what's coming out this year at E3 for all the next gen systems, Atlus USA has announced at the 2008 Anime Expo that the next chapter of the popular JRPG: Persona, titled Persona 4, will be coming this holiday season on the good old Play Station 2.

Persona, part of the Shin Megami Tensei series is a Japanese RPG where players balance time for sim style gameplay of school, work and spending time with friends to build social links that help them with fighting monsters and creating new powers known as Personas.

In this chapter, the game takes place in the countryside of Japan in the town of Inaba, where shortly after the player's arrival, a murder occurs that sets off a series of events that the player must solve with the help of other Persona users.

Though not widely well known in the west, Persona along other games within the Shin Megami Tensei series are highly acclaimed JRPG's known for their character development and creative story telling. Persona 4 is expected to be on the shelves in early December for the fans who've been good this year.

For those who may not be familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei or better known as the Shin Mega Ten series, other games that might ring a bell include Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga.
