With the US and Japan servers already closed, PAL is all that remains on. Now the PAL servers are closing on 10/30/2007, completely ending MGS3 Subsistence Online.

Below is the official statement released by Konami:

As Konami ramps up to the launch of Metal Gear Online, it has announces that it is to close its online service for Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence after more than a year. After October 30th 2007, the servers will be closed and Konami would like to thank the whole Subsistence online community for their dedication to the game and loyalty to the Metal Gear Solid series. We sincerely hope to see you soon again when Metal Gear Online is released for PLAYSTATION 3.

I never really did get a chance to give Subsistance a try online, but it's a pity to see it shut down completely. An understandable choice though, considering the upcoming release of Metal Gear Online.

Does this include Portable Ops? That title is fun online, in short bursts.

No, MPO is most likely going to stay online for a long time, as its been confirmed that both MPO and MPO+ servers are available in MPO+ Online.
