As reported by the French website, JEUXFRANCE.com, Komani is making another attempt at a 3D Castlevania. Only this time they are working on a fighter game for the Wii.
Yes, a fighter game. Similar to Final Fantasy: Dissidia (and inspired/copied from?) the player will control such characters as Alucard, Simon and Maria, etc. Also in the works is the connectivity with the DS Castlevania game Order of Ecclesia to allow the player access to heroine Shanoa in the game.
Here is a translation from the website:
Konami reveals in the U.S. magazine Nintendo Power the initial images of Castlevania Judgment on the Wii that appears to be (unfortunately?) a fighting game playable 3D with the Wii controller, including the possibility of using a multitude of other weapons and magic. With the feel of Dissidia: Final Fantasy on PSP, this game will control some known characters of the series with Dracula, Simon, Alucard, Shanoa, and Maria Renard. The title will also propose destructible environments in which monsters may even come to interfere with the fighting. A connectivity between the Wii and Nintendo DS is possible with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia to unlock the heroine of the game Shanoa.
Considering the previous 3D Castlevania have been lackluster at best, I haven’t high hopes for this game. The fact that the characters, particularly Alucard, lack the defining features of their counterparts from other games doesn’t help. The graphics also leave something to be desired--flashy but hardly high quality.
I'd say even hardcore Castlevania fans might be hard-pressed to want to buy this game, myself included, unless things vastly improve. But I'll reserve "judgement" until I see more.

I'll say what I said in every other mention of this game.
It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't look like such a blatant rip-off of Soul Calibur.
This isn't going to be good. At all. |

This is honestly the worse thing Konami could do to the series. The character art is horrible (Simon looks like the love child Light Yagami from Deatnote, makes sense since the artist for Deathnote is doing all the art, and Tidus from Final Fantasy X) and the few screenshots looks horrible as well. Granted I am a big Castlevania fan, this just shouldn't be.
And since it has to be said, I have one thing to say to this game; Die monster, you don't belong in this world! |

I am sorry but I have to say this: WOT IZ A MAHNNN?!
I am with Dawn on this argument since it is coming out for DS and it does looks nice for a DS or a Wii game, honestly to be fair. The questions are boundless and I think that we can blame Smash Bros or hell, even M.U.G.E.N.
Well, if Nintendo sold on the fanboy rants and so did Square Enix, Konami might as well too, okay, who is next? Capcom? Oh, wait they already did. Okay, WHOZ NEXTT??? HUH?! ANYONE?!?!? *goes insane*
Okay, maybe not... |
