Microsoft offers Halo 3 free with Xbox 360 purchases

As it would seem that Microsoft hasn't been doing enough for this holiday season with Price-drops and console packages, now for a limited time until December 21st, Holiday shoppers who purchase an Xbox 360 along with signing up an account for Xbox Live and registering with Microsoft will also recieve a free copy of Halo 3!

The game will be mailed to the address of the registered 360 around Mid January after Christmas and it's one time only so people wouldn't be able to register multiple accounts for multiple copies.

This isn't the first time Microsoft has done offers of free games with purchasing their consoles and it isn't the first time they've included Halo 3 with console purchases but it is the first time they've gone and mailed them out and in some aspects they probably should have upped the deadline to after Christmas but kudos to Microsoft as they are pushing hard to show Sony and Nintendo that they are tough contenders for the Holiday shopping season.

...Thats a good enough offer.
But to be honest, I think I would buy the Halo 360 and get it then.

I do like the offer I got with my Halo 3.
I sign up to Cable broadband. I get free XBL membership for a year. ^_^

I already bought a 360. And a Live membership. F$@k. Oh well, I
really appreciate what Microsoft is doing here. Obviously, it stands to
reason that the vast majority of people purchasing a 360 this holiday
season will undoubtedly want a Live membership. To get Halo 3, a
game they likely would have purchased regardless, for free is nothing
short of frickin' sweet.

Well, you have to applaud them for their generosity.

Seeing as I plan to do all those anyway, now might be a good time to pick up the machine.

They're really determined to win over the fanbase, aren't they? Well this is a pretty good move, if you ask me. It reminds me of the old nintendo/Dragon warrior combo that was easily successful all those years back (IIRC). And since people are obviously gonna wanna have a game to play with the console they are buying this might be the incentive to make it happen even more for Microsoft.

Clever move, IMO.

I'm the smart one for buying a 360 right before this was announced. Oh well, I'm quite happy with what I purchased. It would be really nice to have gotten Halo 3 free, and no doubt it will help sales this holiday season, but I won't lose sleep over it.
