Well, we all knew it was coming, but the worst has happened. The PS3's long needed triple A exclusive, Metal Gear Solid 4 has been delayed, yet again, until at least the second quarter of 2008.

The official statement from Konami Japan reads:

"Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots Release Update October 31, 2007 - Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, the latest in the Metal Gear series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.

Konami had initially intended to release Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots this winter and has been working on the production of the title.

Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.

Konami will continue its efforts to make Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots meet everyone's expectations."

I'm sure Konami will do a great job, but it's always depressing to see a good game get further away.

Ah well, at least I can sit and save up more for when it comes out, other than that, I hope Komani know what they're doing and that they're pushing it back for good reasons, other than for "improvement"

I hope Konami is careful and don't piss off too many gamers. Some gamers won't wait for a game that takes too long for release and use their cash elsewhere. On the other hand, releasing a game too quickly is basically money down the drain.

Could go either way.
