Metal Gear Online has only been up a few short weeks, but already work on future expansion pack are under way; Metal Gear Online is slated to receive its first expansion pack soon, titled the “Gene Expansion”.

This first expansion pack, in what will hopefully be a long line of many, will feature receive two new playable characters in the form of the game’s characters Johnny and Meryl, and will also include three new maps; "City of Sorrow," “Underground Waterway” and “South American Power Station.”

A new game mode called “Survival.” will also be added. Outside of the addition of female characters, there will also be a new Reward System, and the “Gene Expansion Plus” version that will provide with one additional character slot.

No price or release date has been announced yet sadly, but we’ll definately keep you updated once we have some more solid information. The Konami Press Conference event takes next week though, which is as likely a place as any for such information to be announced.
