It's a good year for Konami stock investors as Konami report record profits for the fiscal year, but fans may not be rejoicing so much, as recent news suggest that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot may not be touching down on gaming shores until some time in 2008.

For the current financial year, Konami only listed one title that the company expects to drive sales, which is, of course, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The announcement was made with no mention of a solid release date, which means gamers could be waiting as late as March 31, 2008, although the last official released date offered by the company was still stated as "TBC 2007."

One of Komani's major sources of profit this year is a business venture that some fans may not be aware of; fitness clubs. Japan passed a Healthcare Reform Act in June of 2006, which has seen a huge surge of interest by Japanese works in the company's "Konami Sports Clubs". During the last fiscal year, Konami opened 10 new clubs, bringing the total to 312 run or outsourced by the company across Japan.

Not a bad way for a company commonly associated with a userbase of lazy teenagers to make money, is it?
