Activision has posted the tracklist for the French, Italian, German and Spanish "European version" of the upcoming DS version of Guitar Hero.
The UK version (when was the UK taken out of Europe?) contains the same track list as the American version, just released this week.
Both versions include songs like Blink-182's "All The Small Things" and Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Knock Me Down", but us poor Europeans lose out on Los Lonely Boys, Rick Springfield, Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers while gaining in other areas. Although I'm not really sure I'd call Tokio Hotel a "gain".
Here's the North American/UK track listing:
Blink-182 - "All The Small Things"
Bloc Party - "Helicopter"
Daughtry - "What I Want"
Freezepop - "I Am Not Your Gameboy"
Incubus - "Anna Molly"
Jet - "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
Kiss - "Rock And Roll All Nite"
Los Lonely Boys - "Heaven"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "I Know A Little"
Maroon 5 - "This Love"
Nirvana - "Breed"
No Doubt - "Spiderwebs"
OK Go - "Do What You Want"
Ozzy Osbourne - "I Don’t Wanna Stop"
Pat Benatar - "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Knock Me Down"
Rick Springfield - "Jesse's Girl"
Santana - "Black Magic Woman"
Skid Row - "Youth Gone Wild"
Smash Mouth - "All Star"
Steve Miller Band - "Jet Airliner"
Stevie Ray Vaughan - "Pride And Joy"
Stray Cats - "Stray Cat Strut"
The Doobie Brothers - "China Grove"
Twisted Sister - "We're Not Gonna Take It"
ZZ Top - "La Grange"
And here's the line-up for the French, Italian, German and Spanish "European" version:
Beatsteaks - "Monster"
Blink-182 - "All The Small Things"
Bloc Party - "Helicopter"
Europe - "Rock the Night"
Freezepop - "I Am Not Your Gameboy"
Heroes del Silencio - "Avalancha"
Incubus - "Anna Molly"
Jet - "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"
Kiss - "Rock And Roll All Nite"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "I Know A Little"
Mademoiselle K - "Ca Me Vexe"
Maroon 5 - "This Love"
Nirvana - "Breed"
No Doubt - "Spiderwebs"
OK Go - "Do What You Want"
Ozzy Osbourne - "I Don’t Wanna Stop"
Pat Benatar - "Hit Me With Your Best Shot"
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Knock Me Down"
Santana - "Black Magic Woman"
Skid Row - "Youth Gone Wild"
Smash Mouth - "All Star"
Stevie Ray Vaughan - "Pride And Joy"
Stray Cats - "Stray Cat Strut"
Tokio Hotel - "Monsoon"
Twisted Sister - "We're Not Gonna Take It"
ZZ Top - "La Grange"

Whoa, high school flashbacks.
Also, it's a pretty decent list, all things considered, but for me, I don't really get into this type of music much. However, I'm sure it's a blast when you're playing it. |

It does seem like they're going excessively mainstream with the list for this game.
And that's why Rock Band will always win over Guitar Hero. Because the guys and gals at Harmonix actually know their music. |

Harmonix started on Rock Band and gave GH to someone else. |

Some of the members of Harmonix are part of the band. Kasson Crooker is the Senior Producer of Harmonix, for instance.
They're likely just outsourcing their music to Activision for inclusion in the game to keep good blood between the companies going, and for a bit of extra exposure. |

Oh, right, you meant freezepop the band. For some reason I misread it as slang for bad pop rock songs. 'Scusi. |

With the exception of a couple of tunes, this track list couldn't blow more
ass if it tried. :disgust: |
