Guitar Hero: Metallica coming soon

So, the lone Metallica track in the Guitar Hero universe, One,isn't enough for you? Me either. Apparently, Activision has Metallica fans everywhere in mind. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, had a very interesting tidbit listed - a new title called Guitar Hero: Metallica.

The game is set to debut in Fiscal 2009, which means it could hit the market anytime between now and March of next year.

No details about the game other than its existence are known at this time, but VGC will, as always, sleep with one eye open to bring you more news as it's made known.

Dear sweet baby jebus, Guitar Hero is turning into a Karaoke franchise.

I still have to pick up the latest karaoke game, but the fact that they will just keep coming out with slim expansions instead of just giving us a way to play EVERYTHING at the same time is incredibly frustrating.

If any of these companies knew what they were doing they would haul ass to get out either a game disc or something that was a compendium of everything. Not as much of the frills, though. So no actual play through game.

Just the whole thing being allowed to be played on co-op, face-off, or solo on any difficulty. I bet they could do it. And maybe the disc could read your saves to see how much you even had unlocked in the other games, and that was all you got. You know, to keep it fair so you can't just play all the songs but never have bought anything but this one disc.

Meh. I don't want to keep paying money for these things but I enjoy the music and the playing so much. Guess I will put them on the wedding registry.

Buy Rock Band.

And so, Guitar Hero dies a slow and painful death...

First there was Guitar Hero. Then comes Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Now there's Metallica. Pretty soon we'll be seeing Guitar Hero: The Rolling Stones, Guitar Hero: The Who, Guitar Hero: Black Sabbath and Guitar Hero: Iron Maiden.

Once Guitar Hero: Fall Out Boy, Guitar Hero: Blink 182 and Guitar Hero: Good Charlotte come out, then I'll be willing to kill myself.

What Activision are doing with this franchise is a joke. For gods sake, you can download entire albums on Rock Back for a quarter of the price of these games.

Honestly, I can see something like this happening; crappy bands get turned into Guitar Hero games in order to satisfy their screaming teenaged fans. On the other hand, this may lead to more girls playing Guitar Hero.
