Chart-Track figures have been released, and show that GTA IV has managed to sell more than 926,000 copies in its first five days on sale... in the UK alone.
The British organisation reports that 514,000 copies were sold for 360 and 413,000 copies were sold for PS3 - a split of 55 per cent to 45 per cent; no surprises there really, considering the 360's larger installed userbase and Microsoft's extra push for promotion of the title and exclusivity of its downloadable content.
By comparison, San Andreas, which launched in October 2004, sold 501,000 copies on its first day and 677,000 units during its first week - which consisted only of two days. Mind, you, at the time San Andreas was released, the PS2 had an installed base of 66 million, so it's somewhat of an unfair comparision.
San Andreas still holds the day one and week one record for the individual format, but GTAIV is the new record holder for all formats.

Thats cool.
I also love the fact that the X360 is sold out pretty much everwhere here, while the PS3 version still has copies for general sale. *laughs*
