Closing off the story of the Burning Crusade expansion, sweeping improvements to the game's interface, and a plethora of PvP based class changes - As far as World of Warcraft patches go, they don't get any more epic than Patch 2.4; Fury of the Sunwell.

VGC takes a closer look at what will be included in the soon to be released patch.

Kael'thas is voiced by none other than Quinton Flynn, who is most famously known for providing the voice of Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2 and 4

Burning Crusades storyline closure
Fury of the Sunwell closes off the storyline which has played out through the Burning Crusade expansion pack, as Kael'thas Sunstrider, the exiled Prince of the Blood Elves, delves into madness and attempts to summon the eredar demon lord Kil'jaedon into Azeroth, under the delusions that he will help his people.

Full story details can be found at the link below.

Sunwell Isle
With the next patch, the Sunwell Isle will be available for play. This area includes a new quest hub and 5-player and 25-player instances. Join the Shattered Sun Offensive in shutting down Kael'thas' nefarious operations. This new force is comprised by both the Aldor and Scryers and is led by the naaru. Players will take part in claiming Sun's Reach and setting up a larger base of operations to stop Kael'thas and the Legion.

New Daily Quests
The combined forces of Shattrath have launched an attack on the Isle of Quel'Danas, to confront Kael'thas and the Legion at the Sunwell and surrounding areas. Players will be able to gain reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive and participate in a new set of daily quests, including new daily dungeon quests for both the heroic and non-heroic five-person Magisters' Terrace dungeon at the Sunwell. And last but not least, this update will increase the daily quest limit to 25.

Global Arena Tournament
Players will now be able to create level-70 characters with epic equipment on special tournament realms and compete in a new global arena tournament.

UI Improvements
The combat log has undergone improvements that allow more robust combat text filtering including the ability to define custom colors for enemies and friends, as well as combat text filtering for self and others.

The art on that looks amazing, and I'm very happy they're finishing up the story so well. However, they totally ignored the Draenei side of things... at least in my opinion. It just feels unfinished and I want more. Oh well... I guess they'll just cater to the Blood Elf side.

I've heard about tournament realms, and I have yet to decide whether I want to participate or not. I kind of want to get at least one of my toons geared out on my own. This encourages skill, which is needed if everyone else has the same item level stuff as you. The new instances seem interesting, but I'm not into instances much...though I have said that might change with the arrival of 2.4. I just might start raiding again!

*collective gasps across an empty room*
I know!

Patch 2.4 is supposed to be monumental, the last patch before the next full on expansion. I embrace some, shun others
As for UI changes, I don't think that will affect me much seeing as I have mods sprinkled like customized crystal sugar all over my interface.

Corrine, I bet you there will be more. Blizzard is probably holding it back a little for another huge patch making subscribers wait and wonder.

This is interesting. And probably huge.

I must admit though, it does look awfully shiny.

I think Marty is right, they're not going to relase everything to tie it all up in one patch, for all we know, there is more to be doing with the dranei.

Rumor has it the patch comes out next week.

Get ready for a plethora of praise and ridicule riding waves of lag, glitches and hotfixes. It's going to be intense.
