Final Fantasy XIII as we all know is heading to the XBox 360. An announcement that got lost in that shock of that announcement was that Final Fantasy XIII is heading to PC as well. Square Enix has stated that the PS3 version will come first, then the PC version, and the 360 version last.

While the announcement isn't to much of a shock considering VII, VIII, and XI were on PC. It's strange for SE to be developing a numerical FF on so many platforms. Seeing if anything will be different between the three versions or if Versus XIII follows suit are going to be the things to watch for. I suppose this now gives everyone a reason to not buy a 360?

Considering the solid 360 consumer basis, and the insanely expensive PC you're gonna need to actually run this game, I highly doubt.

The consumer doesn't have any problems with buying the 360 anyway, so that remark completely nonsensical. People never bought the 360 waiting for Final Fantasy XIII. Consumers did buy the PS3 waiting for it.

Putting this game on multiple formats make perfect financial sense; third party exclusive are an archaic and outdated approach to the industry. Though consider the lack of popularity of the PC gaming market in Japan, and the notoriety of how these kinda games jut don't work on PCs, it does seems like a strange move on Square's part.

Still, more choice for the consumer I guess.

I don't imagine I'd have the specs for the PC verison. My computer can barely manage Windows as it is. x.O

However, agreed, more choice is better for the consumer and sound financial sense for Square (provided they get an adequate return on it).

The way he phrased it is more than a tad deceptive.

The Japanese version will be completed first, because the development on the PS3 version is much further ahead. North America and Europe will be getting the English version on the PS3 and 360 at the same time.

Square have also promised that they're going to cut the time between releases of the Japanese and English version as much as possible, so we're probably looking at about 3 months, hopefully.

Kotaku seems to be the only one sticking to the story, so for right now I'm gonna believe it's false. Kinda sucks considering how good VII and VIII were. Best thing about VIII PC was that it was the only way to play the Chocobo World in english.

I think we should have waited to see what the specs were before we started down totting our PC's too. The version development was information that was provided.
