Finally Square Enix has announced that the official European release date for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core will be on the 20th June (it's about time!).

Crisis Core has sold 480,000 copies in Japan on the day of its release topping the sale charts , including the 77,777 Limited Edition PSP / Crisis Core bundles.

Square Enix recently announced that Crisis Core was its best-selling game across all regions from April through to September with 710,000 copies sold in Japan. The nearest title to it, was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 which FFCC beat by 100,000 sales.

You guys looking forward to it?

...Yey.
I dont even have a PSP for it anymore.

But I guess I'll still get it, Im just pissed off over the time this took to get over to the EU. *shakes head* It's just insanity.

It was meant to come out here in Nov, then was pushed to Dec, Then pushed to march, and now, this.

I gotta feel for you guys, it really is craptacular how long it takes. Localization shouldn't be that long, IMO, although maybe I don't get the mechanics as to why it does. Still, happy for ya!

What most gamers don't realise is that they have to translate it in a number of different languages for the European market, not just English. In the case of games such as these, where dialogue and text are heavy, it can take a long time.

It sucks, but its more financially viable to do it this way.

Oh, we realise thankyou very much, but what gamers in the UK dont see, is why we have to wait for the other countries in the EU, when we're only part of it in writing.
Most of the languages IN the EU are not spoken in the UK, So generally, it would be feasable to release both the US and the UK one at the same time. And with games companies saying the UK is one of the hearts of gaming, (Not the freaking EU) I think we deserve better than this.

What about MGS4? And other such simultanious/close releases?

I can understand waiting a bit due to tanslating, but there is NO excuse for how long it is this time.

Quick question: Is the pre-order special edition (with the art book) only for us European peeps? You know, a belated present from Square Enix.
