Final Fantasy IV trailer sets high standards for DS cinematics

Recently, Square Enix took a surprising move when they transferred the original Final Fantasy III to the DS, overhauling it completely with a new 3D graphics and refining the gameplay. Now it's Final Fantasy IV's turns, and the newest trailer has a lot of surprises up its sleeve.

Final Fantasy III on the DS had plenty of text, but it looks like Final Fantasy IV will superceed this with a heavily rewritten, voiced story. Impressive doesn't even begin to cover it.

The script appears to take on a tone similar to the much admired script of Final Fantasy XII, relying on complex acting ad voicework over the teen angst and bad acting the series is commonly known for. Although the voice acting does seem way too dramatic when paired with the chibified, its definately refreshing for a handheld title, and a huge achievemet to boot.

Story sequences also seem to have received a heavy duty makeover, with dynamic camerawork to compliment the high quality voice-overs.

Mandatory to the series will be the usual high quality CGI sequences, which really bring the life the story of the original game in a way that fans haven't seen before.

Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself.

Now hurry up and remake Final Fantasy VI, damn you!

I'm hoping this game will be as good as the trailer seems to promise. I've played the original FFIV, and for some reason it didn't really capture me as much as other FFs have done.
But after having seen this trailer, I was instantly hyped about buying and playing the game.

Cecil sounds like he is played by Yuri Lowenthal... Oh poopy, I was wrong he is being played by the Black Ranger, Johnny Yong Bosch. Well, Yuri is playing as Kain so I was close or so says the great wikipedia (now if the page would stop reloading itself a thousand times). Here is the current cast so far:

Characters- English voice actors
Cecil- Johnny Yong Bosch (Nero [DMC4], Ichigo [Bleach], Vash [Trigun], Lelouch/Zero in Code Geass.)

Rosa- Karen Strassman (Kallen Stradtfeld [Code Geass], Satsuki Yatouji [X The Anime Series], Soifon and Momo Hinamori [Bleach]

Kain- Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke Uchiha [Naruto], Suzaku Kururugi [Code Geass], Reks [FFXII], The Prince [Prince of Persia Series].

Edward- Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric [Full Metal Alchemist], Ikkaku Madarame [Bleach], Broly [Dragon Ball Z])

Rydia- Kate Higgins (Sakura Haruno [Naruto], Talho [Eureka Seven], C.C. [Code Geass])

Yang- Steven Blum (Spike Spiegel [Cowboy Bebop], Kazuma [Scryed], Shishio Makoto [Rurouni Kenshin], The Laughing Man [Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex],

Edge- Mark Gatha (Domon Kasshu [G-Gundam], X [Mega Man X8 and Mega Man X Maverick Hunter])
(Anybody want to place bets of what he will say when he does his Blaze/Flame attack "This flaming hand of mine glows burning red!!! It tells me to defeat you!!! Flame Ninjitsu FINGER!!!" LOL, I am such an ass)

Most of these actors have been majorly type casted for these roles so I guess Mark Gatha is perfect for Edge, the whole revenge thing. Well, just as long they do a good job that is all that matters.
