A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... there was a day when Electronic Arts used to make good games. With the retro gaming craze very much in full swing, us oldies may just get a chance to re-visit that time once more.
Though it's been sitting on the rumour mill for weeks, EA finally made an official announcement concerning their plans for the upcoming release of their own dedicated retro collection, for the PSP, which manages the encompass a rather healthy selection of some of their most well renowned classic titles, in amongst a number of rather suprising (but welcome) choices.
One of the more interesting aspects of this compilation is the fact that some of the games (Budokan, Mutant League Football, and Road Rash II) will actually feature wireless multiplayer capabilities, something which wasn't obviously wasn't in the original games. Though people were undoubtably hopeful that all the multi-player games in the collection could have been played wireless, I'm sure many will agree that it's not a option that should be sniffed at, considering the fact that it was implemented at all.
Below is a full list of the games that will make up the "EA Replay" retro collection.
B.O.B.
Budokan
Desert Strike
Jungle Strike
Haunting starring Polterguy
Mutant League Football
Road Rash
Road Rash II
Road Rash III
Syndicate
Ultima: The Black Gate
Virtual Pinball
Wing Commander
Wing Commander: Secret Missions
The compilation will be released stateside on November 7th, at a rather reasonable $19.99. There's no word yet on a European / Australian release as of yet though, but we'll keep you posted as always!
