E3 2008: Final Fantasy XIII coming to Xbox 360

No, I didn't dunk my head in the dream tree. It has just been announced, that the 360 will be getting it's own version of Final Fantasy XII, which up to now was designated solely as a PS3 exclusive.

Speaking at the E3 conference earlier, the head of Square Enix Yoichi Wada stated it was to get more gamers playing the game and enjoying it.

Aside from being cheaper and a better hardware, almost all the games I want are also on Xbox 360 now. I rather like Sony but this is pretty much the deciding factor for me. No way... Sony wouldn't... holy hell... Well when I die I better take a sled with me as hell just froze over. Also, lulz.

This one is about the gaming being announced, the other one is about fanboys whining about the loss of exclusivity.

By: SwitchxA On: 04:34 Jul 14th, 2008 Offline	It'll end up like most multiconsole releases. 360 will run a bit faster, but the PS3 will look better. Makes me sad though. I hope they don't cripple the PS3 version just so they can get the 360 version done.

That's a very Interesting point you make, especially considering that the PS3 graphics card possesses half the memory of the Xbox 360's. The PS3 can display slightly cleaner textures due to the main processor's higher memory capacity, but the 360 can display a lot more visual effects and tricks on screen at any one time. The only thing that would "cripple" it is disc space, and that can be easily solved by shipping it on more than one disc. I have yet to see a PS3 game with graphics that outclass anything on the Xbox 360. But then, I'm not claiming the PS3 has better graphics, when it clearly doesn't. Don't call me a fanboy in future if you're gonna make baseless claims about another console's "superiority" in areas where it doesn't exist. Especially when most developers have openly admitted that developing for the PS3 is a nightmare compared to the 360.

However as Michael says developers have a nightmare with the restrains sony have but on developing games. Hideo (Metal Gear Solid guy) was disappointed Metal Gear Solid couldnt be better because of the barriers in developing a game on the PS3. Xbox 360 on the otherhand is at its peak and has a consistancy with its games whilst still inferior to the PS3. GTA IV (Xbox 360) out sold the PS3 version. Wada prob saw this and decided to go multiplatform... In my view the Playstation 3 machine is better (processing/graphiucs), however i believe the Xbox 360 is doing far better in pretty much every department... No game has really worked the PS3 - which a shame. Sony should be doing better

IIRC, doesn't the PS3 technically have a better graphics engine, but the available RAM (around 256 MB) hinders it, while the Xbox360 has twice the amount? IIRC, that gave the 360 better draw distance/frame rate in GTA IV, while the PS3 versions excelled in particle effects, like explosions. Since the 360 versions is being released after the PS3 version, they'll likely change the game so it runs as expected on the 360, instead of doing a emulation-type deal, like with the PSX SNES FF releases.
