Don't like your spouse in Fable 2? Let your friend kill them off!

The 2008 Game Developers Conference or GDC is starting to draw to a close as gamers have been given a sneak peak at upcoming features, technology and best of all, previews of their highly anticipated games.

One of the big anticipations came from Lionhead Studios showing off number three of their four innovations of Fable 2, along with a Xbox Live game that will let players earn money in game, Players will now be able to campaign in a new style of Co-Op play.

Peter Molyneux, the big cheese of Lionhead Studios gave a demonstration of how the Co-Op would work, players would be able to play as “henchmen” on their Xbox 360 and play with their friends on a different 360. Molyneux discussed the “hiring” bit of deciding who would be the henchmen talking about how deals could be made as to who would get the most of or all the XP, gold or renown. What’s more, instead of just playing some pre-made selectable henchmen, players would be able to use their own characters from their game and send them to their friends’ world along with being able to transfer back the rewards.

Molyneux gave a demonstration of the Co-Op feature along with showing off a build for the female character that will be available and another player played as the henchmen and killed off Molyneux’s “spouse” in the game. Molyneux joked but gave some indepth flavor to the game about how because his husband was dead, their son would be placed in an orphanage when he leaves to go questing. He would be able to visit his son but the relationship would be affected because of it.

So far Lionhead Studios has been going to the edge and back so that Fable 2 will give players according to Molyneux, “a real experience, of emotion, of love.” in the game. If these innovations are what gamers have been waiting for then other RPG developers are going to have to pull out the stops to be able to stand up against Fable 2.

I just watched the video, and I couldn't help but laugh. Definately wasn't expecting him to shoot Peter's husband. -_-

You left out the best feature of all. If you're playing a female character, and you decide to have kids with your husband, she actually gets pregnant, and has to carry the baby for nine months game time. *laughs*
