It seems that Square-Enix have taken a leaf out of blizzard's book, and have hosted some weird cryptic imagery to completely confuse the internet for a while.
Featuring the iconic Chrono Trigger logo, there is no indication when this 'countdown clock' will end. But we can be damn sure we're going to see a Chrono Trigger on the DS in the near future.

I've been trying to justify not owning a DS, but I see now that no argument will be enough.
Must. Get. DS. |

Well it has been confirmed that yes, Chrono Trigger is being ported to the DS. The game will take advantage of the dual screens and touch sensativity. While these are unsurprising the really good new is that it will also have a wireless mode and a brand new dungeon. It's great to hear this, but I hope they follow in FFIV's footsteps and not in FFIII's.

I heard this just a day ago on youtube, well, Square Enix, how many times can you port and how well can you do it? I think they should have a few more connections to the Chrono Cross and maybe a few extra bosses (as if there is not enough already, lol) but most of aall keep the Ted Woolsey script mostly intact but add more to it. Though I can imagine the ideas like doing the combination attacks with the stylus. WHY HAS FATE NOT GIVEN ME A JOB OR A DS, WHY?! |

They'd be crazy to change that script.
Nice to see this coming to the DS. The handheld has been sorely lacking in top grade title recently, but this will be a quick addition to my collection once it comes out. |

This is another good reason for me to get a ds
well this is good news, i'd rather play chrono trigger on a system rather than the computer, and it'd would be great if they do this with chrono cross as well becuase of teh dissapearance of my chrono cross disc 1, but wait didn't they put chrono cross on the psp? i saw something like that on youtube. |

I've heard they're retranslating it, but it's likely a FFVI-style retranslation, where they kept the fan-favorites of the Woosley translation (like the self-help booklet line from Kefka).

They've only "ported" Chrono Trigger once, so it's not like FFIV, which has three ports (PSX, WSC, GBA) and a remake (NDS) of the original SNES game. |
