PSP is going to get a good dose of Castlevania with the announcement of The Dracula X Chronicles. Included in the package is the PC Engine Super CD Castlevania X: Rondo of Blood with two unlockables: Symphony of the Night and the original verison of Rondo of Blood. Fans have been eager for these for years but as quoted by Koji Igarashi, Castlevania producer, "for various technical reasons we were unable to do it until now".

Not much additional information is known about the unlockable games but Rondo of Blood barebones storyline is Dracula returning (who'd have guessed?) and stealing away with four young women who protagonist Richter Belmont goes after. Game experience is dependant upon what path the player picks; the exploration hints at Symphony of the Night yet retains some of the series more linear roots. The game will need to be completed more than once for those that want to see and do everything in the game.

An exact date for the release isn't known yet but it's rumored to appear for the PSP sometime in 2007.
