Michel Ancel, creator of the Rayman franchise and director of the original Beyond Good & Evil, announced today that Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been in pre-production for the past year, but Ubisoft apparently has yet to decide whether or not to move the title into full production.

Of course, they'd be stupid not to.

Beyond Good & Evil, as many of the community here will agree, is one of the most criminally underrated video games in recent history, having been launched on the PS2, GameCube, and the original Xbox, to universal critical acclaim but little public success.

Please, please, make this game Ubisoft. The sensible gamers of the world are begging you.

BG&E is among my all time favorite games, and the ending did kind of leave you wondering wtf was going to happen once everything was all said and done. A very well made sequel could very well open up some eyes and bring in new players to the series who might have missed the first. The original was spectacular, and a sequel would be a dream come true for me and many others. Thanks for sharing this tidbit, Michael!
