For awhile now, it has been several rumours that Metal Gear Solid 4 will not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and will be released on the Xbox 360. Even with Konami and Sony reconfirming it as a PS3 exclusive, many believe that Konami will need to release the game on the Xbox 360, to get a decent profit on the release date.

While speaking with reuters, assistant producer Ryan Payton along with a Konami Spokesperson stated, that Metal Gear Solid 4 will need to sell 1 million copies, on the first day of its release in the second quarter of 2008.

This meaning MGS4 is coming to the Xbox 360 to cover the high production costs? No, it does not. Ryan Payton reconfirmed that the game will indeed stay a PlayStation 3 exclusive title. "We're telling our fans that if you want to play Metal Gear Solid 4, you have to buy a PS3," stated Ryan Payton, "The PlayStation brand has always been good to us, and we're pretty bullish on the PS3."

I don't see any problem with them hitting that figure, I for one am getting a PS3 pretty much for that game. And I'll probably buy the special edition they haven't announced that will not be worth the extra really :P

If any game can reach those figures, it's MGS4, but it's smaller user-base will make it harder for them to achieve it.

I'd be surprised if this didn't come to 360 at some point, when you consider that.

I think if it does go to 360 it will be Hideo's trump card. HE has faith in his brand and i salute him for that. Just cant see a game selling a expensive and no offence overated console which are made primary for multi media purposes

Sales for the PS3 did jump up a bit for the few weeks after the game came out, but they've already settled back into their normal (read: low) figures.
