This week XBox Live Arcade will see the release of the original Soul Calibur along with 280 new questions for the XBLA game Wits and Wagers.

Soul Calibur was originally released in 1998 in Japanese arcades. The fighter differentiated itself by a heavy use of weapons in a 3D environment. Eventually the game made its way to home consoles in 1999 appearing on the Dreamcast.

While many believe it to be the start of the Soul Calibur series, Soul Edge was actually the first game. Soul Calbur did not have any online to speak of on the Dreamcast, but with it's new release on XBLA it will have online leader boards. The game is also getting a slight visual upgrade for HD resolutions. Soul Calibur will be available for 800 Microsoft Points.

Wits and Wagers started out as board game in 2005. The game is built around a game show mechanic with a twist of Vegas. Questions will be asked and players submit answers, but each player can bid on which answer they think is right.

This interesting combination has brought the game many awards and fame inside the board game community. Only recently has the game been brought to XBLA. This week players can get 280 more questions to test their friends and other players on. The DLC will be available for 320 Microsoft Points.

Ooooooh, I didn't realise Soul Calibur was coming out this soon.

And at only 800 points, that's a bloody steal.

One of my worst gaming tragedies was losing my original Soul Calibur disc. This makes me really, really, really happy.

*IS praying the PSN gets Soul Blade*

I've never played SC myself I jumped straight to 2, but I have heard it's one of the better parts of the series.
