Ignoring the fact that I could just as easily download the ROMs for most of this games and attach a controller to my PC, this is still a sweet selection of games. Gunstar Hereos is one of my fondest gaming memories from my youth, and it's intrigueing to see that the game has made it on to this list. The same goes for Toe Jam & Earl, which is as big a cult classic as you can get on the European gaming culture. It's obvious they're holding back on some of the biggest stuff... my heart is going to ache until the day Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask goes up on the Virtual Console... |

I don't want to play any of these games, because I've played most of them over and over. What's with the conceptual brilliance of the Wii and the boring games to go with it? I don't understand how you can spend money to play the same games.... it just doesn't make sense. | |||

Well, not all people have a working NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. And some people might just have been unlucky enough to not have gotten certain games. Now with this, it allows us a chance to get some of those games again, and not have to worry about a cartridge. And the VC collection is looking great =) I can't wait to get my hands (or memory) on some more. |

"Already, gamers can purchase Wii Points and download some of their favourite retro games from older Nintendo system, not to mention the Sega Genesis and the TurboGrafx-16" Purchase as in pay good hard earned money for nintendo's "Free" access to there classic libary of games. |

It's not like they're asking for a week's wages. The games are cheap as hell. |

Exactly. And you're only paying for each game once. And if your Wii breaks and you buy a new one, Nintendo will be able to give your downloaded games back, free. Besides, I figured the games would cost something. The only thing I know will be free is the online games. |

Nintendo never made any allegations that the Virtual Console games would be free. And heck, for €/$5 per NES, 8 per SNES/Mega Drive/TurboGFX and 10 per N64 game it's not exactly that they're ripping you off, if I want to go out and get oh, the Ocarina of Time today I'll easily have to pay €30 for it, thanks to the Virtual Console I could get it for a third of that price. Sounds like a solid deal to me. The only free thing that they promised is that their online service would be free, as in, unlike X-Box Live you don't have to pay an annual fee for your online gaming kicks. And once you have the Opera browser (which will be a free dowload), surfing the net is also free. So don't try and make it sound like Nintendo is trying to make you go broke. o: |
