According to the CEO of Sony, Howard Stringer, the company intends to “refine” the price of the PS3. Whatever refine means remains up to debate but he stated in an interview, “Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise….because it’s cheaper.” He also added that “That [price cuts] is what we are studying at the moment. That’s what we are trying to refine.”
With the coming holiday season Stringer said he expected an “energy” in the PS3 sales and that “…you will begin to see break-out games”. Thirty new games are rumored for release, one of these games is Home, a virtual world which is expected out sometime this year. It’ll have some stiff competition for Stringer noted that, “…Nintendo Wii…a very good business model, compared with ours {PS3}….”
