....The PSX failed miserably. Why is this going to work? Another £100 for your PS3...Yeah, willing to pay that...No, Im not. |

Play TV suddenly sounds a lot less appealing. When will Sony realise that all these insane added costs for weakly implemented features is what's turning people off their console in the first place? It's nothing more than a glorified TV aerial with a visual imput port to your PS3. Lets try to also ignore the fact that an aerial of that sort can only pick up terrestrial television... |

Actually, 'digital terrestial' refers to freeview television, so this can pick up digital signals and record them, and hooking it up to a sky box would easily give access to all those channels. However, you can do the exact same thing with an aerial-in card and a recording program for about $20. Sony 0, everbody else 50,000,000. |

I'm not that exited about it either. Its not anything better than my DVR and i'm not sure I'd even use my PSP to watch pre-recorded shows on. However sony isnt the only company doing it. I'm sure everyone has heard about IPTV at this point for the Xbox 360. Basically the same thing on another console. Its something that both systems are capable of at this point and its basically another race to be the BEST much like the Blu-Ray and HD-Dvd war was. I like the idea of my console(s) being able to do much more than they do... but there is a point where you have to consider just how useful these things actually are. |

If they had it to record actual gameplay and put it on youtube or whatever, I would probably go for it up to a certain point then there is the fact the gameplay would have to limit it self to 5-10 depending on the format they are using. For me, this would be a dream since it would give me a chance to record gameplay from PS1-PS3 (yes, I would get the 80 GB), but the price point is the biggest problem here. | |||
