Considering the PS3’s dominance over the Xbox 360 in Japan, this one is a bit of a no-brainer, but recent sales figure indicate the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4 has outsold the Xbox 360 version by almost 5-to-1 in Japan.

The title managed to shift a quite impressive 140,000 copies on the PS3 on its first day at retail, compared to the less impressive 30,000 copies sold on the Xbox 360 on the same day.

If anything, this is a good sign for the future success of the console. It's unlike the scales will be as uneven when the game hits retail in the west, but it should be interesting to see how the sales of such a high profile compare on both formats over here.

The game launches in Europe on February 8, and in the US tomorrow, February 5.
